Worth a stop for first-time Vegas visitors, poker players and anyone who enjoys extravagant themed interiors; it works best as a free walk-through paired with a meal, drink, gondola ride or show rather than as a retail-only visit.

Casino access costs nothing, but you must be 21 or older on the casino floor and may be asked for government-issued photo ID.

Advance online gondola tickets are the resort’s lowest-price option; if sold out, try the same-day in-person booth rather than a marked-up third-party package.

The Venetian is a Venice-themed luxury casino resort at 3355 S. Las Vegas Blvd. on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Completed in 1999 on the former Sands Hotel site, it was created as a deliberately extravagant fantasy version of Venice, with a roughly 120,000-square-foot casino, faux palazzi, painted ceilings, a campanile and Rialto Bridge replica, canals and gondolas, and the Grand Canal Shoppes. Its casino connects directly with The Palazzo’s casino, forming one large gaming complex rather than a historical or cultural Venice attraction.
It is one of the best single-stop introductions to maximalist Las Vegas: free-to-enter casino spectacle, elaborate interiors, poker, dining, shopping and people-watching in an air-conditioned complex. It particularly suits first-time Vegas visitors, poker players, couples considering a gondola ride, and travelers who enjoy intentionally over-the-top themed architecture. Skip it or keep it brief if casino smoke, faux-European décor, expensive resort food, or long indoor walking distances are deal-breakers; casino-floor guests must be 21 or older.
Before you go
No. Casino and resort-public-area entry is free, with no timed-entry ticket or casino-access reservation. Guests must be 21 or older to be on the casino floor, and staff may request government-issued photo ID. Carry physical ID even if you do not intend to gamble. Enter via the Clock Tower Entrance from Las Vegas Boulevard, or use The Venetian Front Drive if arriving by rideshare or taxi. Walk through the main casino, continue to the Grand Canal Shoppes and Waterfall Atrium for the canal interiors, then return to the casino for gaming, drinks or dinner. Allow 30–45 minutes for a casino look-around, or 1.5–2.5 hours for the casino, canal interiors, a drink and people-watching.
Late afternoon through early evening is the best all-purpose window: see the interiors before dinner traffic peaks, then stay if you want the nighttime casino atmosphere. For exterior photos around the Doge’s Palace façade, go near sunset. The casino is indoors and works year-round; April and October are especially good for pairing it with a comfortable Strip walk. Friday and Saturday evenings, major convention weeks and big event nights can mean busier restaurants, parking, rideshare pickup and higher table minimums.
Under-21s may use non-gaming areas such as restaurants, shops and family-oriented entertainment, but should not use the casino floor as a sightseeing route. Casino-floor access is restricted to guests age 21 and over. Source: https://www.venetianlasvegas.com/resort/casino.html
A gondola ride is separate from casino entry. Book directly online up to 60 days ahead for the resort’s advertised lowest-price option: selected off-peak shared rides start at $34 per person, with standard shared rides listed at $39 per person and private gondolas at $156. If online slots are unavailable, try same-day, first-come-first-served sales at Emporio d’Gondola for indoor rides or the outdoor booth near Doge’s Palace. Outdoor rides are seasonal and weather-permitting. Source: https://www.venetianlasvegas.com/resort/attractions/gondola-rides.html
For Uber or Lyft drop-off, set the destination as “The Venetian Front Drive.” Rideshare pickup is not at the front drive: go to Level 2 of The Venetian Parking Garage. For taxis, use the south end of The Venetian Front Drive. Deuce bus riders should use the northbound stop beneath the St. Regis Clock Tower in front of the resort, then enter at the Clock Tower Entrance.
